Where Words Became My Voice

I have always been interested in observing life from a viewpoint of contemplation and understanding.

Life is made up of moments—some significant, some seemingly insignificant, and some we don't recognize until years later.

As a writer and artist, I am drawn to those moments. The conversations we remember. The relationships that change us. The people we lose. The places we leave behind. The quiet moments in which we discover something about ourselves.

Through poetry, writing, photography, and visual art, I explore these experiences and the questions they leave behind.

My name is Muhammad Al Ghazali, and this is my story….

MY CREATIVE JOURNEY

My creative journey began during my undergraduate years, when I was young, shy, and somewhat naïve—full of hopes, dreams, and a curiosity about a world I was only beginning to understand.

I have always believed there was a creative spirit within me, though I never fully understood the extent of its potential or where it might lead me. What began as a quiet curiosity gradually grew into a lifelong journey of exploration—through art, design, photography, and eventually, the written word.

I was never particularly good at expressing myself through spoken words. My natural shyness, combined with a lack of confidence in expressing what I felt and thought, often left me searching for the right words long after a conversation had ended. There were thoughts I could not easily say aloud and emotions I struggled to put into conversation.

In time, I discovered that writing offered me a different kind of voice. On the page, I found the freedom to pause, reflect, and search for the words that truly represented what I wanted to say. Writing became a quiet space where I could express thoughts and feelings that were difficult to communicate verbally. What I could not always articulate in conversation, I learned to explore through words, allowing my ideas, observations, and emotions to take shape on the page.

Perhaps, in many ways, writing was not simply something I chose to do—it was a way of finding my voice.

And after years of writing, observing, contemplating, and reflecting on the many experiences that shape our lives, those scattered thoughts and quiet observations gradually began to come together. What started as a personal way of understanding myself and the world around me slowly evolved into something more—a collection of words shaped by life, its beauty, its contradictions, its joys, and its sorrows.

Over the years, I found myself returning again and again to the same simple question: what does it truly mean to experience life? Through poetry, I began exploring that question, drawing inspiration from the ordinary moments, relationships, struggles, memories, and lessons that often pass unnoticed.

From this journey came my debut book, The Poetry of Life and Other Stories—a collection born from years of observation, contemplation, and reflection, and from a belief that life itself can be a poetic experience.
