How does one awaken a sleeping heart,
Numbed by the indulgences of this world?
How does one awaken a soul
Bombarded by lies and illusions?
Through seeking of The Eternal,
Where Truth and Reality reside,
Where the immortal words of God endure,
Bearing a weight no mortal words can carry,
Guiding the soul through moments of unconsciousness.
Divine words that soothe the heart and soul,
Healing them of the diseases within,
Awakening a consciousness
That keeps the weary spirit alert
To the dangers that surround it.
For this world is fickle,
Deceptive in its promises,
Unreliable in its nature,
Forever changing beneath our feet.
Nothing here remains as it is,
Nor offers certainty that will endure.
For certainty does not dwell in the fleeting,
But in the eternal promise of Paradise—
Where truth is no longer obscured,
Where doubt and deception cease to be,
And the soul, at last, finds its eternal rest.
